Training Awards

The Stem Cell Program will support students, postdocs and faculty to attend scientific conferences and workshops, as well as to receive on site training in stem cell related techniques.

Travel Awards

Requests for travel funding will be considered on an ad hoc basis. A maximum of 2 applications, each for up to $2,000, is allowed per PI lab per year.

To request funding, please send an email with the following information to Claire Tu (cct48@cornell.edu).
  1. Traveler's name and position
  2. Dates and titles of the conference/meeting/workshop
  3. The travel purpose
  4. Estimated travel costs

2008 Award Recipients: Siu Sylvia Lee, Claudia Fischbach, John March

Cornell Stem Cell Program accepts applications for $5,000-8,000 training grants. These grants are intended to facilitate training in stem cell-related technologies and methods. They can be used for salary, supplies, small equipment, and travel necessary to support stem cell-related training in either trainer or trainee labs. The applicant PI should be an active faculty member of the Cornell Stem Cell Program. The trainer labs can either be at or outside Cornell. Applications will be reviewed by the Stem Cell Program funding committee and evaluated using the following criteria:

  1. Quality of the project
  2. Expertise of trainer
  3. Needs of the investigator
